Role: Senior UX Designer (Consultant) at Steeleye (2017 - 2019)

Mission: To assist Steeleye, a newly founded startup, in delivering an MVP to the market to help SMEs comply with MiFID II regulations by January 2018. The platform was designed to enable compliance managers to monitor communications and trades, and to initiate internal investigations for regulatory or internal compliance purposes.

Key Activities:

  • Collaborated with Steeleye’s team to formulate the initial feature lineup and prioritize design work to meet tight deadlines.

  • Conducted interviews with internal stakeholders and domain experts to gather insights and ensure the platform addressed key compliance needs.

  • Identified and aligned the primary business objectives (BOs) with the design process to create a user-centric platform.

  • Developed multiple user flows that satisfied the identified business objectives, ensuring an intuitive and efficient user experience for compliance managers.

  • Created detailed story maps and wireframes to outline user interactions and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations.

  • Crafted high-fidelity visual designs for final signoff, ensuring the platform’s interface was both functional and visually appealing.

  • Collaborated closely with developers to ensure a seamless handoff and successful implementation of the designs.

    • Outcomes:

  • Successfully delivered an MVP that enabled SMEs to meet MiFID II compliance requirements by the January 2018 deadline.

  • Developed a platform that allowed compliance managers to proactively monitor their company’s trades and communications, gather data efficiently, and generate comprehensive reports within minutes.

  • Ensured the platform’s design was aligned with business objectives and user needs, resulting in a product that was both effective and user-friendly.

  • Facilitated a smooth design-to-development transition, contributing to the timely launch of Steeleye’s platform in a highly regulated and competitive market.
