Senior Product Designer at Clear Street, LLC, New York, USA (2019 — 2021)
Mission:
To create the first MVP of Clear Street Customer Portal, modernizing clearing services for the first time since the 1970s and providing innovative solutions for hedge funds and prop-trading firms.
Key Activities:
Joined the team in 2019 to work on the first MVP to market, aimed at modernizing clearing services.
Set up end-to-end design methodology, from requirements gathering to user testing.
Owned product definition and design vision, engaging collaboratively with C-Suite stakeholders.
Led and expanded the design team, mentoring developers and ensuring high-quality design implementation.
Designed tools for Clearing agents (internal) and hedge fund users (compliance managers, CFOs, and traders) to provide clearing and order status for pending and confirmed transactions, margin calls management, and a streamlined sign-up experience.
Engaged with internal trading entities, providing real-time access to users with decades of experience for feedback and iterative design improvements.
Defined scope, explored design solutions, and QA tested design prototypes.
Outcomes:
Successfully created and launched the first MVP of the Clear Street Customer Portal.
Developed a user-centric tool that improved the efficiency of clearing and order status management for internal and hedge fund users.
Implemented a streamlined sign-up experience, which is common in modern tools but unusual in traditional financial services.
Received real-time feedback from experienced internal users, enabling continuous iterative improvements and ensuring the tool met user needs effectively.
